This is pretty cool. Control your computer from your phone and it’s even on iOS.

Google just launched a beta version of Google Web Designer today. It’s a free tool to help create HTM5 and CSS3 animations, mainly for banner ads, but the potential is there to be more.
I’m excited about this because to me, this is a possible way to 1) have real designers take back online advertising again.
and 2) kill flash even more.
This tool has the potential to open back up the potential for designers to animate their ideas in a way that we used to try to do in Flash back in the day. But now we can do it with technology that is thriving, not dying.
I would rather create and animate banner ads directly in this tool over creating static comps in a pdf file for a client to review. Call me crazy, but this seems like a no-brainer.
It will also reduce development and possibly deployment time because this tool can tie in directly with ad services like AdMob.
It also will claims “everything you create is accessible on any screen – desktop, tablet or mobile – without compatibility issues.”
Flash was the first thing I thought of upon seeing the demos. It really looks like a very powerful design tool. The hope is that it makes Adobe evolve it’s products to this level.

From a dev point of view this latest announcement seems to push brands further toward using responsive design to cater for mobile and tablet users as opposed to an m. subdomain or dynamic serving of content based on device. Google likes responsive design because the right content is always served to the user, even if it isnt necessarily specifically targeted on them.

As if we needed another reason to want to push the world to a mobile ready web.
I noticed the other day that Google had redesigned the search pages. Here is a good read about how these changes will effect our clients business.
According to Google, “With the new design, there’s a bit more breathing room, and more focus on the answers you’re looking for, whether from web results or from a feature like the Knowledge Graph… we’ve been working on ways to create a consistent search experience across the wide variety of devices and screen sizes people use today.”
Sounds good–but here’s what it could mean to your business.

Why Google+ Doesn’t Care If You Never Come Back | TechCrunch.
Interesting take on Google+.
Isn’t it curious that Google+ doesn’t actually show you any ads? It’s because the time-on-site and page views there are trivial. Hit the road, Jack. Don’t you ever come back and post an update, upload a photo, or add anyone to your Circles. It doesn’t matter. What’s important to Google is getting your biographical data.
Two Google+ SEO Guides You Should Read.
I find this fascinating. Especially because I don’t know a lot of places taking this advice yet:
Even if your audience isn’t active there, it’s almost mandatory to have a profile and be active there because of the way Google is showing more Google+ contentin its regular search results.

I can’t tell – is it android only or will the service work on an iOS device?

Google+: The Numbers Driving Its Growth [STATS].
Yes it’s growing fast, but reality is setting in after the buzz i think:
The truth of the matter is that none of these stats are official and Google+ is still very new, so it’s anybody’s guess as to how accurate Experian Hitwise’s actually are. Still, we think the company’s numbers make sense. While Google+ is gaining in popularity, it is still minuscule compared to Facebook, Twitter, Zynga, Tagged or even MySpace.
This could be interesting. Meta Watch.. connecting your phone to your watch. I WANT ONE!!!!
Fantastic concept. The watches themselves aren’t as unattractive as I thought they might be. $200 for developers only… hmm.
Google Music to stream 20,000 songs for free, launches at I/O later today — Engadget.
Will this kill Amazon Cloud Player? The key feature to this is the “free” part.. so yes… I think I’ll be moving over to Google Music.
but still no iOS device support. i know it’s apple’s fault for making things difficult, but the reality is that there are > 180MM iOS devices in use. The iOS base is about 37.9 million and the Android installed base is 23.8 million. (I did a very cursory search for these numbers, but I think the point holds). I just hate the war. Why cant we all just get along? I finally completely regret purchasing iOS devices.
yeah.. they said it’s coming soon though.. so we’ll see who gets it out first might win this one.
