Twitter to Roll Out More Brand Pages for Paying Advertisers
Brand pages can be customized with large header images that advertisers can use to give greater visibility to their logo or other branded elements, which are often partially obscured by the timeline of tweets in the standard format. They can also be programmed to keep a particular tweet at the top of the timeline, which can auto-expand to reveal an embedded photo or video without the user taking action, and thus gives the page more visual impact.

When businesses ask for a social media strategy, what they are often really asking for is: Get me a presence on Facebook, Twitter and the like. The mantra of cultural and organisational change that is required in the social web seems to ring hollow. To be fair, it is not their fault. With a traditional business mindset it is hard to see why a presence on Twitter or Facebook is different from the corporate website. After all, these tools can seem to be just another communication channel.

Kraft Jell-O Pudding Seeks To Eradicate Twitter Frowns.
This is a great way to tie in the latest Jell-O pudding campiagn into twitter. Frowny faces 🙁 get pulled into one side while Happy faces 🙂 come in on the other.
On average, there are 800 frowns and 1,200 smiles a minute. When the mood deviates from that norm, Kraft sends recent frowners a redemption link for free Jell-O Pudding. When those consumers click the link, Kraft encourages them to use the 😀 “pudding face” emoticon. Those count as smiles, in theory bringing the total count up.

Some may frown on this concept of automated twitter conversations. I love it. Maybe not in its current form, but the possibilities are huge. The trick will be to figure out how to avoid it becoming such an obvious crappy ploy like e-mail spam or junk snail-mail. Is that even possible? Or, will automated exchanges be detectable and receive the same stigma as the Nigerian Prince e-mails?
